Description:
ASUS swears that the T100 Chi is a laptop with a detachable keyboard, which transforms into a tablet, but we think that it is probably better off the other way around. Sporting a 1.46GHz Intel Atom chip with 2GB of RAM running on Intel's own HD graphic processor, this seemingly confused hybrid is no powerhouse by laptop standards. As a tablet, however, it looks well-equipped with quite a few features going for it, including its thin (7.2mm) and lightweight (570g) all-aluminum form factor, its business-friendly Windows 8.1 operating system, and of course, the bundled keyboard. However, despite an array of connectivity options, this device doesn't have a full-sized port, which (again) makes it a poor laptop replacement, since adding peripherals like a mouse or an external camera would mostly likely require an adapter. In this case, getting a conventional notebook might just be more logical and convenient. Still, its price (in the lower hundreds) might make the T100 Chi an appealing laptop-tablet option for those on a budget.
