Description:
It may have the most boring name in the tablet universe, but the Venue 8 7000 packs some exciting surprises underneath its anodized aluminum case. At just 6mm, it is touted as the world's thinnest tablet. However, its main attraction is its integrated Intel RealSense depth-sensing camera, an 8MP camera unit with two auxiliary lenses that gather dimensional information to create 3D images that can be refocused, filtered or edited after they are taken. Interestingly, it also claims to be able to make simple linear measurements (like measure the height of a person or the size of a room) with photos. Gracing the front of this device is an 8.4-inch OLED display that flaunts a 2K (2560 x 1600) resolution, while processing is handled by a quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom chip humming at 2.3GHz. Yet, quite annoyingly, this high-end tablet offers a mere 16GB of local storage (but, really, less than 10GB is user-accessible). Fortunately, Dell was gracious enough to fit in a microSD slot that accepts up to a sizable 512GB of additional memory.
Also called Dell 7840.
